How can you leave him out? No one did it in the 80s or 90s. Whitey Ford had winning seasons every year in the 50s, and Juan Marichal in the 60s. I don't know whether anyone did it in the 70s. These are my top 9: 1) j. santana 2) randy johnson 3) r. halladay 4) cc sabathia 5) r. clemens 6) c. shilling 7) pedro martinez 8) r. oswalt 9) a pettite not solely based on world series rings, cy young awards, and/or wins or losses as all of those numbers can be deceiving (world series are won by a team not 1 starting pitcher. cy young awards are based on era and wins/losses. but a pitcher could have a 2.50 era, and if his team gives him no run support he could only win 10 gmaes. does that make him a worse pitcher than say andy pettite who got tons of run support while in both houston and ny?) Apparently the MLB Network wants to ignore the Clemens "roid" circus. I was hoping that we had gotten past the turning a blind eye to the steroid period, however with the MLB network addition of Clemens and Pettitte to this list all bets are off.
